Shillong Chamber Choir Live on Stage, 18 September 22

Enjoy a musical evening with the multi-genre Shillong Chamber Choir, performing live on stage to raise funds for a good cause.

Assam Charity Trust is arranging to stage ‘An Assam Autumn’ at Midland Art Centre, Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, B129QH. ‘Save the Date’, Sunday, the 18th of September 2022, and possibly Monday, the 19th of September.

We are discussing with Shillong Chamber Choir (SCC), founded in 2001 by Neil Nongkynrih. SCC is a multi-genre choir; its versatility ranges from performances with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Fitz William Quartet to collaborations with known icons like Amitabh Bachchan for the opening of Kaun Banega Crorepati season 6.

Before the SCC takes centre stage, we will screen an award-winning film তুমি মাালালা, a Roopak Gogoi film with an English sub-title which tells the story of 8 years old Nadia who has a dream.

Assam Charity Trust is at the forefront of raising funds for good causes in Assam and northeast India. The pandemic has definitely interfered with our activity but not the commitment. Recently we distributed 15 smart TVs to primary schools in rural Assam (Read Here) to help deliver digital content and efficient learning to the pupils. We would like to continue the work with your support. All the proceeds from the event will go to this cause of furthering world-class primary education among the disadvantaged community.
